Kathleen Schlais, 73, of Waterloo, died at home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. She was born April 4, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard and Lee (Tuzzillano) Persky. Kathleen married Gerald Antone Schlais on June 24, 1961 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Laura (Perry) Simon of Waterloo and Cheryl Huettel of Madison, Alabama; two sons, Kevin (Kim) Schlais of Douglasville, Georgia and Gerald (Janna) Schlais, Jr. of Bentonville, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild due in October of 2015. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Marie Persky. A family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
