Karen V Winner

Karen V. Winner, 65, of Waterloo, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.  She was born March 3, 1945, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Noble and Dagny (Juhl) Winner. Karen graduated from Janesville High School in 1962 and from Gates Business College in 1963. She worked for Rath Packing Company and John Deere Engine Works, in clerical positions, retiring in 2007.

She is survived by her brother, Charles Winner, of Coralville, Iowa; a niece, Caron (Gary) Scott, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a great nephew, Ben, a great niece, Kaitlynn, a step great niece, Brianna, all of Cedar Rapids; a step niece, Lori (Alvin) Maklenburg, of Manly, Iowa; a step nephew, Christopher (Pamela) Maklenburg, of Donna, Texas; a step great niece, Samantha, of Donna, Texas; two step great nephews, Michael and John Maklenburg, of Manly, Iowa; an uncle, Frank Juhl, of Highwood, Illinois, and many cousins and friends.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 10:30 am Monday, August 30, 2010, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 2:30—4:30 pm Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
