Karen Rekers

Karen S. Rekers, 71, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born May 14, 1944 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Verna (Rogers) Rekers. Karen was a graduate of Janesville High School and the University of Northern Iowa. She had been retired for several years.

Karen is survived by two brothers, Michael Rekers and Lowell (Bridget) Brown, both of Waterloo, and two sisters, Cindy Bunz of Dysart, Iowa and Karla (James) Ostby of Waukee, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Rekers and her mother, Verna Brown.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics ICU. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
