Karen Marie Persson, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 22, 2019 at MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Elmo Dale & Ruby Marie (Powell) Powell. Karen graduated from Waterloo West High School. She married John "Jack" Persson on June 10, 1961 in Waterloo. Karen was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Persson of Cedar Falls; two sons, John (Sachie) Persson of Okinawa, Japan and Brian (Liza) Persson of Elk Run Heights, Iowa; grandchildren, Lexie (Ashon) Denton, Drew (Jacquie) Persson, Brandon (Claire) Persson, Zachariah (Akiko) Persson and Jeremiah Persson; one brother, David Powell of La Porte City, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Sharon Powell.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls with burial in Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
