JOYCE L.
NORTHEY, 85, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born February 24, 1920 near Jesup, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph L. and Mayme (Hallman) Edgerton. Joyce married Gilbert H. Northey on August 6, 1942 at Midland, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2001. She taught school in Summers and West Branch, Iowa. Joyce was a member of Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, Cedar Heights Flower and Garden Club, and the Cedar Falls Woman's Club. Recently she was recognized in her role as bride in the Cedar Heights, Cedar Falls union reunion.
She is survived by four sons, Steven Northey of Waterloo, Iowa, Nathan (Larel) Northey of Waterloo, Iowa, Thomas Northey of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Daniel (Rosamaria) Northey of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Mary (Shane) Sullivan of Ulysses, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Erika (Jeff) Lantz, Chad (Olivia) Northey, Matthew (Tammi) Northey, Jessica and Jennifer Northey, and Amanda, Sarah and Josh Sullivan; five great grandchildren, and one sister, Jeannette Caster, of Jesup, Iowa.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Norman Northey.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls. Interment will be at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
