Joyce Elaine Moyer

Joyce Elaine Moyer, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo. She was born January 2, 1930 in Dike, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Isabelle (Herbeson) Kettwig. Joyce married Merle "Bob" Moyer on November 16, 1958 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2009. Joyce worked at the Cedar Falls Record Newspaper and Dietrick's Turkey Farm. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. Survivors include her son, Kory Moyer, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kathy Moyer of Clear Lake, Iowa and Kim Moyer of Knoxville, Iowa; four grandchildren, Toby Williamson of Cedar Falls, Nicol (Rory) Geving of Cedar Falls, Luke (Mandy) Fitzpatrick of Pleasantville, Iowa and Sean (Jessica) Fitzpatrick of Ackworth, Iowa, and eight great grandchildren, Megan and Morgan Williamson, Alissa and Hannah Geving, Kaydin and Beka Dryer, Zach Frederick and James Gatrel. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a daughter, Kelli Moyer, and three sisters, Jane Bear, Betty Moyer and Phyllis Wical. Services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 17, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, with inurnment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
