REV. JOYCE RUTH GULDAGER, was born January 7, 1930 in Cedar Falls, Iowa the daughter of Godfrey H. and Juanada (Groesbeck) Guldager. She graduated from UNI and Wartburg College. In 1982 she graduated from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque. She taught school for 20 years in Fairfax County, Virginia. While there she also taught art in the women's reformatory. While in the ministry she served churches at Aurora, Oran, Hampton and Ryan, Iowa, and also at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. After retirement she served as Interim Pastor and also Pulpit Supply. Joyce died Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 71 years of age.
Joyce is survived by one brother, Lyle Guldager of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two nephews, Tim and David Guldager; four nieces, Toni Akers, Tammy Bern, Lynn Guldager and Gloria Smith, and three step-nephews, Brad, Matt and Ryan Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
