Joyce Goetzinger

Joyce J. Goetzinger, 89, of Dike, died Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Joyce was born December 30, 1925 in rural Dike, the daughter of Carl & Anna (Hansen) Nielsen. She married Richard Goetzinger September 18, 1948 in rural Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death in September of 1996. Joyce was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Terry (Mary) Goetzinger, of Waverly and Brian Goetzinger, of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Carla (Jerry) Ward, of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Chamie Goetzinger, Abigail (Caleb) Bergmann, Gabe Ward and Matt Ward; two great grandchildren, Oliver and Violet Bergmann; and a brother, Harlan Nielsen, of Dike. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one brother, William Nielsen, and two sisters, Wilma and Helen Nielsen. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Dike United Methodist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church. A memorial fund will be established.
