Joseph Joe Sterba Jr

Joseph "Joe" Sterba Jr, 88, of Shell Rock, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Falls died Monday, May 8, 2017, at  Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. He was born May 12, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Joseph and Antonette (Hanousek) Sterba Sr. Joe married Wanda Mae Mack on September 30, 1951 In Frederika, Iowa. Joe worked for Oliver Tractor Co., Rath Packing, and retired from farming and truck driving. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, old John Deere tractors, and playing cards.

Joe is survived by his wife, Wanda Sterba, of Shell Rock; three sons, James (Diana) Sterba, of Sumner, Iowa, Jerry Sterba, of Forrest City, Iowa and Richard Sterba, of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Pamela Folkerts, of Waverly; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls with visitation one hour before services.
