Joseph De Martino

Joseph De Martino, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Health Center. He was born December 5, 1936 at Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Iona (Mc Fadden) De Martino. Joseph was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Navy. He married Yvonne Morrison in 1955 and they were later divorced. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Black Hawk County for many years. He also worked for John Deere in the tool and die department, retiring in 1993.

Joseph is survived by one son; Jeffrey De Martino, of Waterloo; three daughters, Vikki (Dana) Cooke and Gina (Jon) Voigt, both of Cedar Falls, and Angela Kettman, of Denver, Iowa; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild, and one sister, Rose Marie De Martino, of Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday December 30, 2010 at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS post # 49.  Inurnment will be  at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Madison Wisconsin.
