Joseph Christopher Knief, 22, of Cedar Falls, died at home on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born November 19, 1994 in Pensacola, Florida, the son of Christopher and Jody (Muehlberger) Knief. Joseph was a 2013 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and was a student at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo.

He is survived by his parents of Cedar Falls; his brother, Thomas Knief, of Boulder, Colorado; paternal grandfather, Eugene (Signe) Knief, of Waterloo; paternal grandmother, June Ceaglske, of Cedar Falls; maternal grandmother, Catherine Wells, of Pasco, Washington; several aunts, uncles and cousins; many friends, and his dog, Copper.

Joseph was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Muehlberger.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Friday, and one hour before service Saturday, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Autism Society of Iowa.
