JOSEPH PETER HOLTZ was born February 24, 1919 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, the son of Peter and Mary (Miscysyn) Dzuira. He married Evelyn Naivar on June 1, 1946 in Temple, Texas. Joe served with the U.S. Army during W.W. II and was employed as a machine operator for Teledyne Continental Motor Company in Muskegon for many years. He was a former member of the V.F.W. and St. Jean's Catholic Church in Muskegon. Joe died Friday, December 22, 2000, at his home in Cedar Falls, at 81 years of age. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Linda Plakke and her husband Bruce, of Cedar Falls; five granddaughters, Emy Monroe and her husband Tony, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Elise Plakke of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jodi Courts and her husband Christopher, of Iowa City, Iowa, and Bethany and Lia Plakke, both of Cedar Falls, and three sisters, Flora Chandonnet and Stella Arnoldi and her husband John, all of Muskegon, and Anne Yorks of Nokomis, Florida.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Alexander and two brothers, Michael and Bill Holtz. Memorial services were 10:00 Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at St. Stephen's Catholic Student Center in Cedar Falls.  Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple, Texas at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.
