Johnnie Mae Fisher, 78, of Waterloo, died at home of natural causes on Monday, July 25, 2016. She was born August 24, 1937 in Augusta, Georgia, the daughter of John and Ethel (Crawley) Hammonds. Johnnie Mae married Earnest Fisher, Jr. on November 18, 1958 in Miami, Florida. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2004. Johnnie Mae worked at Rath Packing Company, John Deere & Company and later with Black's Department Store, all in Waterloo.
She is survived by her two sons, Earnest Lee (Barbara) Fisher of Waterloo and Robert Craig (Teri) Fisher of Murrieta, California; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Edward Hammonds and Curtis (Laura Mae) Hammonds, both of Augusta, Georgia, and two sisters, Lillie Hoskins of Waterloo and Willene Lindsey of Pacoima, California.
Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by her parents and husband; four sisters, Margaret Robinson, Francis Hammonds, Paulene Jones and Lillie B. Hammonds, and one brother, Paul Hammonds.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with burial at Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
