John A Blalock

JOHN A. BLALOCK, 71, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. He was born July 27, 1935 in Miami, Florida, the son of Lacey Cannon and Julia (Hendry) Blalock. John married Eura Lee Walters in August of 1959 at Las Vegas, Nevada. They later divorced. John graduated from Camden Central High School, Camden, Tennessee, in 1954 and attended technical school in California. He served with U.S. Army and was a systems engineer with General Electric for many years, retiring in 1998. John loved jet skiing, water skiing and boating.

Survivors include his daughter, Kelly (Larry) Hilton, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two grandsons, Nathan (Andrea) Hilton and Nolan Hilton, both of Cedar Falls; his brother, Jimmy (Sandy) Blalock, of Camden, Tennessee; his sister, Nancy (Dave) Clark, of Perry, Florida, and his step mother, La Verne Palmer, of Camden, Tennessee.

John was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Juliann Bolt, a great grandson, Jenner Hilton, and a sister, Dorthea "Dotsy" Flink.

Visitation will be 46:00 pm Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, and 58:00 pm Thursday, April 26, at Beggs Funeral Home in Perry, Florida. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, April 27, at Hendry Memorial Church, with interment at Hendry Memorial Cemetery, both in Shady Grove, Florida.
