Joanna "Jodie" Gutknecht

Joanna Dee "Jodie" Gutknecht, 64, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.  She was born July 7, 1953 in Pittsfield, Illinois, the daughter of Jesse Dee and Betty (Kattelman) Yokem.  Jodie married Robert Gutknecht, and they later divorced.  She graduated from Cedar Falls High School and was a supervisor for Guest Services at the Isle of Capri Casino.

Jodie is survived by her son, Matthew (Rhonda) Gutknecht, of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Jennifer Seidel, of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Alexis, Alexzanderia, Ryan, Ashleigh, Jesse, Crystal, Emily and Amber; two great grandchildren, Aleah and Brooklyn; her mother, Betty Yokem, of Cedar Falls; four brothers, Jesse, Charlie (Julie), Craig and Carl Yokem, all of Cedar Falls; her sister, Grace "Amy" (Matt) Shook, of Janesville, Iowa, and her special friend, Jimmy Bruns, of Janesville.

Jodie was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Yokem, and a sister-in-law, Vicki Yokem.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 1:30—5:00 p.m. Sunday, and one hour before service Monday, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
