Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of Cedar Falls; one son John Megan of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Catherine (Bill) Stensland of Forest City, Iowa , Mary (Lynn) Coen of Zearing, Iowa and Carol (Jim) Faust of Ankeny, Iowa; one daughter in law, Tammy (Kim) Davis of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and one sister Marylinn Hayes of Strawberry Point, Iowa.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Michael H. Megan in 1977 and Francis L. Megan in 1996.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Military rites will follow the service by the Denver American Legion #653. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice, St. Patrick Catholic Church or to the family.
