Jerald W Baxter

Jerald "Jerry" William Baxter, 47, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.  He was born November 16, 1963 in Cedar Falls, the son of Kenneth LeRoy and Arlene Jane (Adams) Baxter.  Jerry married Elaine Silampa in September of 1982 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa, and they later divorced.  Jerry served in the Iowa National Guard for two years.  He installed satellite dishes for Davis Electronics in Waterloo, and sold produce at both the Cedar Falls and Waverly Farmers Markets.

Survivors include two daughters, Samantha "Sam" Rae Ralls of Waverly, Iowa and Terasa Marie (Jon) Schell of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Miles, Madison, Mya, Mason, Timothy Jon "TJ" Schell and Andy Schell; a brother, James (Julie) Baxter, of Waterloo, and a sister, Jane (Jim) Johnson, of Elk Run Heights.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister in infancy, Craig Allen Baxter, John Paul Baxter, and Julia Mae Baxter.

Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Monday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
