Jennie Folkers, 90, of Shell Rock, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Waverly Health Center, Waverly, Iowa. She was born January 1, 1919 at Kesley, Iowa, the daughter of John and Dena (Conraads) Van Lengen. Jennie married Ben L. Folkers, October 13, 1940 in Waverly, Iowa. He preceded her in death April 12, 1985.Jennie is survived by three daughters, Lorna Knapp of Shell Rock, Janice (Jim) Geiger of Waterloo and Jeanne (Duane) Buss of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, John Van Lengen, of Janesville; and two sisters, Hannah Hartgrave of Pine River, Minnesota and Grace (Paul) Knapp of Shell Rock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, Ben, Albert, George, Paul and Henry Van Lengen and two sisters, Fannie Kroeze and Dorothy Ridder.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Shell Rock Baptist Church, Shell Rock, Iowa with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Garden, Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday, January 16, 2009, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
