Jeanita Patterson

Jeanita Virchow Patterson, 79, of Hudson, Iowa, died, Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Falls. She was born May 23, 1931, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of M. Dorland and Helen M. (Jacobs) Baker.  Jean married William Virchow May 21, 1950 at Osage, Iowa and he preceded her in death September 12, 1997. She married Jimmie J. Patterson September 10, 2001 at Hudson.  Jean graduated from Osage High School and DMACC.  She was a nursing home administrator for twenty-five years, including many years at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, retiring in 1993.  Jean was a member of Hudson AMVETS Auxiliary and was past President of the Iowa AMVETS Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie J. Patterson, of Hudson; one daughter, Vicki (Tom) Bicket, of Reinbeck, Iowa; two grandchildren, Timothy W. (Melissa) Bicket and Justin Kanfield, and a brother, Jon Dorland Baker, of Lansing, Iowa.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, William Virchow, one daughter, Darlene Kanfield, and a sister, Delores Seeber.

Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial at Osage Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.  Visitation will be 4—6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
