Jeanine K. Johnson, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the Western Home Deery Suites. She was born October 2, 1940 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Galen R. S. and Genevieve (Hill) Humbert. Jeanine married Garel L. Johnson on October 30, 1958 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2016. Jeanine graduated from Cedar Falls High School and attended AIB. She co-owned with her husband both The Craft Shoppe and Twin Oaks Print & Frame in Cedar Falls, retiring in 2003. Jeanine was a member of Orchard Hill Church, DAR, Black Hawk Button Club, Hanna Lou Questers and was a lifetime member of the Cedar Falls Historical Society.
Jeanine is survived by her son, Jeffery (Jillynn) Johnson and her daughter, Sheryl (Rodney) Brandhorst, both of Cedar Falls; her five grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jacob & Jonah Johnson, Elizabeth (Robert) Hostert and Victoria Brandhorst; her sister, Connie (James) Christiansen, of Waseca, Minnesota; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Johnson of Grundy Center, Iowa and Sue Johnson Boushelle of Shawnee, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers-in-law, Bobbie Johnson and Harold Foxworthy.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Orchard Hill Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Those attending the visitation and service are encouraged to bring and wear a mask and social distance. In lieu of flowers/plants, memorials may be directed to the family for future charity designation. Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
