JANE E.
MORTENSON was born May 31, 1951 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Don and Esther (Enger) Fisher. She married Cliff Mortenson in 1975. Jane graduated from Emmetsburg High School and Texas Lutheran University. She was employed by the state of Iowa for many years, her final sixteen years as an Administrative Law Judge. Her declining health required early retirement in 1999. Jane died Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa, at 49 years of age.
She is survived by two sons, Josh, a student at Central College in Pella, Iowa, and Ross, a student at Cedar Falls High School, and their father, Cliff Mortenson of Cedar Falls; her parents, Don and Esther Fisher of Emmetsburg, Iowa; two brothers and their families, Jim and Bev Fisher of Estherville, Iowa and Monty and Debbie Fisher of Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
Jane was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2000, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Inurnment will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2000, at High Lake Jack Creek Township Cemetery near Wallingford, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Ingham/Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp, 1203 Inwan St., Milford, Iowa 51351.
