Jane Elizabeth Martin Kerbey, 86, of Glenview, Illinois, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, September 25, 2008, at The Abington of Glenview. She was born December 8, 1921 in Terre Hill, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Harry G. and Carrie (Coleman) Martin. Jane married William L. Kerbey on June 19, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2003. Jane was a nurse in the U.S. Army during WW II. She was an adoring wife to Bill and a kind and loving mother to her children. Jane and Bill were active in the community and made numerous, generous gifts over many years. She was an extraordinary cook and a gracious hostess. The sparkle never left her blue eyes. Jane will be remembered as a gracious lady, a generous spirit, and a delightful friend to all she met.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan (Michael) Doiron of Beaumont, Texas and Carolyn (Ray) Lestina, of Park Ridge, Illinois; a son, John Kerbey; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Risser of Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven brothers and sisters.

Graveside committal services will be 10:30 am Thursday, October 16, 2008, at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
