Jane E. Campbell Beard

Jane E. Campbell Beard, 105, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Nation Cottage. She was born November 13, 1910 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Edmond Ernest and Lilly Grace (Koser) Campbell. Jane married Marshall Rust Beard on August 27, 1931. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1972. Jane earned her M.A. degree in History from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jean Kennedy of Cupertino, California and Phyllis Steele of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Sandra Steele of Mercer Island, Washington, Pamela Steele of Waterloo, Iowa and Anthony (Sara) Steele of Wildwood, Missouri; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband and parents; two sons-in-law, William Kennedy and Dan Steele; a grandson, Paul Steele; three brothers and five sisters.
