James Webrand

James Webrand, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born May 3, 1936 in Finchford, Iowa, the son of Orlow and Emma (Meinders) Webrand. James married Charlene Hyberger in 1959 and they were later divorced. He married Sandra Horner November 22, 1963 in Preston, Minnesota. She preceded him in death March 9, 2008. James graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1959. Before his retirement in 1993, he worked in the power plant with the Cedar Falls Utilities. James was an active member of the Cedar Falls Amvets.

He is survived by one daughter, Becky Rindels, of Evansville, Indiana; two sons, James (Debbie Zaninot) Webrand, of Martinsville, Indiana, and Dennis (Linda Raley) Webrand, of Phoenix, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Britney and Austin Rindels, Joseph, John, James, Julie and Ryan Webrand, Leah Bitsue, and Eilona Webrand; a special friend, Julie Horstman, of Cedar Falls; one brother, Orlow Webrand, of Cedar Falls, and one sister, Phyllis (Richard) Aschenbrenner, of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p. m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at the funeral home and one hour before services on Saturday. Military honours will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS post #49. Memorials may be directed to the family.
