James Robert Stonewall

James Robert Stonewall, 69, of Cedar Falls, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 18, 2023.  He was born October 27, 1953, in Marshalltown, son of Robert "Jiggs" and Donna (Moyer) Stonewall.  Jim grew up in Gilman, Iowa, graduating from Semco High School with the Class of 1971, then attended Marshalltown Community College for two years before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.  On November 25, 1978, he was married to Jan Kay Harmon in Eldora.  Jim worked as a driver for FedEx for many years, then joined his father in farming in 2005.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents.  He is survived by his parents of Gilman, Iowa; wife of 44 years, Jan; son, Drew (Sofie) Stonewall of Waukee; grandchildren, Haisley and Case; his sister, Susan Carver of Grinnell; and "grand dog", Franny.

Jim's Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2023, with Visitation the evening prior from 4-6:00 pm both at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls.  Private Family burial to follow at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Family for future designation.  Condolences can be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .

Jim was incredibly self-disciplined with a daily checklist to ensure he accomplished every objective.  He was a dedicated learner, maniac bicycler and a lover of animals.  Jim was an avid gardener who will be remembered for providing plenty of musk melon for all those he knew and loved.  He always put the needs of others first and had a deep and abiding faith.  Jim will be deeply missed by friends and family.
