James B Stokes

James B. Stokes, 62, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.  He was born December 8, 1947 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Thomas A. and Mary E. (Schaffenburg) Stokes.  James graduated from Cedar Falls High School and worked at Waterloo Industries for twenty-five years, and later was an In-home Healthcare Provider.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Bancroft's Flowers.  James was faithful to his family and was the "Keeper of the Flame".

Survivors include his two sisters, Joann L. (Marvin) Benda of Dysart, Iowa and Carol J. (Roger) Fox of Des Moines, Iowa, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Diana K. Helgeson, a brother-in-law, Jim Helgeson, and a nephew, Thomas N. Beck.

Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 5—7:30 pm Tuesday, September 28, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 7:30 pm Scripture Service will be conducted.  Visitation also one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
