James Howard Carlock, 70, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Friday, October 26, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Jim was born April 22, 1948 in Florence, Alabama, the son of Ellis and Evelyn (Ezell) Carlock. He married Karen Horonzy and they were later divorced. He then married Andrea Moeller November 14, 1994. Jim served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He worked for Bosch Company in Waterloo for 25 years and at John Deere Tractor Works for ten years. Jim enjoyed working on cars, camping, winter vacationing in the south, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Andrea Carlock, of Waterloo; one son, Mark (Beth) Carlock, of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Jill Carlock, of Waterloo; two step daughters, Jennifer Timmer, of waterloo and Julia (Forrest) Dawkins, of Cedar Falls; ten grandchildren, Dane and Corinna Carlock, Hailey Carlock, Madisen, Calvin, and Carson Timmer, Isaiah, Josiah, Hannah, and Elijah Dawkins; and his special dog, Elvis.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, and one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Cedar Falls AMVETS post 49 will conduct military honors. Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
