James Loewen Bolger

James L. Bolger, 70, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, November 3, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo. He was born November 19, 1946 in Belmond, Iowa, the son of James H. and Josephine (Loewen) Bolger. James married Karen L. Nelson on August 17, 1968 in Cedar Falls. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2017.  James graduated from Columbus High School in Waterloo and received his BA degree from the University of Northern Iowa.

He is survived by two sons, James N. (Malorie Klunenberg) Bolger and Justin (Kaitlyn) Bolger, both of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Blaike and Berkley Bolger; one brother, Richard L. Bolger, of Arvada, Colorado, and one sister, Susan J. Bolger, of Cedar Falls; two nieces, Amber and Rebecca Bolger and one nephew, James (Danielle) Bolger, all of Colorado.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Services will be private.  Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
