Jack J Bienfang (1926-2012) Cedar Falls - Jack J Bienfang, 85, of Cedar Falls, formerly Grundy Center, died Tuesday, February 21, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Jack was born on October 12, 1926 in Grundy Center. The son of Elgin "Buster" and Iva Dean Schuck Bienfang. He married Carrol Appel and they later divorced. On October 12, 1979, he married Suzan Paige Dieken at First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Mr. Bienfang served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a US Postal employee for 32 years and retired in 1984. He continued to pursue his hobbies of building, flying and community service by serving 33 years on city council and a term as Mayor. Survived by: his wife, two step-daughters, Amy (Chad) Bullock and their children Madison, Dawson, and McKenzie of Emily, MN and Audrey (Levi) Sires of Waterloo, his daughter Doris (Wayne) Wrage and children. Three brothers Jim, Gary (Judy) of Grundy Center and Don (Ruth) of Blue Springs, MO and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: his half-brother, Leo and sister-in-law, Anna Mae. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, 707 6th Street in Grundy Center, preceded by visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
