Ivadean M. Itzen

IvaDean M. Itzen, 92, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, January 2, 2017, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born March 28, 1924 in Holland, Iowa, the daughter of Heye and Alice (Franken) Heronimus. IvaDean married John E. Itzen August 28, 1946 in Holland. He preceded her in death December 11, 2008. She graduated from Grundy Center High School, Ellsworth College and also attended University of Northern Iowa. IvaDean taught school for seven years in Holland and was a secretary for twenty two years in the chemistry department at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1986.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly (John) Landa, of Gans Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Matthew Landa, Megan (Nick) Bayer, and Cassie (Blake) Sanderson; three great grandchildren, Abilee and Branson Bayer, and Lian Sanderson; one sister, Deloris Baker, of Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Tom, Paul, and George Heronimus; seven sisters, Tena Schoon, Mae Brower, Elma Siefken, Hazel Abels, Gertrude Hansen, Ella Paterni, Lillian Heronimus.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Orchard Hill Church, with burial in Holland Cemetery in Holland. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Memorial may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
