Irma M Husome

Irma M. Husome, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at NewAldaya Lifescapes.  She was born  March 3, 1918 in Hanlontown, Iowa, the daughter of Martin & Louise (Morotz) Oswald.  She married Edward J. Husome November 14, 1937 in Hanlontown.  He preceded her in death July 9, 1973.  Irma was employed as a retail clerk in Cedar Falls for 17 years, retiring in 1973.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (LaRetta) Husome of Waterloo, Iowa and Rod (Cheryl) Husome of Apache Junction, Arizona; fifteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren; one brother, Myron Oswald of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; and three sisters, Esther Hudson of Fresno, California, Bernice "Bunnie" Mixdorf of Cedar Falls and Elaine (Jim) Vogel of Jesup, Iowa.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents and husband, two sons, Mervin and Lowell Husome; two grandchildren, Tracy Husome and David Levendusky; two brothers, Clarence and Melvin Oswald; and one sister, Irene Maxson.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be 4 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
