IRENE E. SAGE
WEBRAND, 85, of Sumner, Iowa and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, August 7, 2005, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner. She was born October 16, 1919 near Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of George L. and Rachael E. (Elmore) Bridges. Irene married Robert Sage and they were later divorced. She married Jurgen Webrand on August 1, 1981 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1999. Irene was the head cook at Bishop's Restaurant in Cedar Falls, retiring in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Ken) Gilson of Sumner; a step-daughter, Linda (Gene) Michael of Waverly, Iowa; a step-son, Gary (VicKee) Webrand of Waterloo, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd (Bea) Bridges of Plainfield, Iowa and George (Ruth) Bridges of Waverly.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Robert Sage and Jurgen Webrand; a daughter, Elizabeth Henniges; a granddaughter-in-law, Earlene Strottman; and three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were 10:00 am Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with interment at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, Cedar Valley Hospice or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
