Ida Arlene Kressley

Ida Arlene Kressley, 98, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Harmony Waterloo.  She was born on the family farm in rural Zearing on January 31, 1926, daughter of Fredrick and Clara (Bedeger) Franke.  At one month of age, the family moved from Southern Iowa to rural Tingley.  Arlene attended Country School through 7th grade then Afton and Lorimor Schools.  She graduated from Lorimor High School in 1943, then moved to Waterloo.  On June 9th, 1946, Arlene married Bernard Neil Kressley and beginning in 1957, they made Cedar Falls their home.  In addition to raising their 6 children, Arlene worked in various restaurants and did child care for several years.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barb; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; a daughter-in-law; a son-in-law; 2 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 1 great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.  She is survived by 3 sons:  Robert and Frank of Cedar Falls and John of Hayes, Virginia; 2 daughters: Beth Stevens of Waterloo and Berna Deane Webb of Le Mars; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

Arlene's Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with Visitation one hour prior to the Service.  Burial will follow at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.
