Ida Bisbee

Ida Bisbee, 95, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.  Ida was born September 2, 1914, at Coster, Iowa, the daughter of William & Jennie (Van Heuvelen) Smith.  She married Ernest Bisbee February 9, 1941 in Cedar Falls.  He preceded her in death April 10, 1994.  Ida was a nurse's aide at Sartori Memorial Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 1968.

Survivors include two sons, James I. "Jim" Bisbee, of Cedar Falls, John F. Bisbee, of Waterloo; a step daughter, Dianne (Fritz) Homann, of Davenport, Iowa, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  Ida was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Hiram & Koert Smith, and two sisters, Jane Smith and Frances Troutfetter.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.  Memorials may directed to the family or St. John Lutheran Church.
