Hugh S. Wright

Hugh S. Wright, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, February 23, 2018, at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo, Iowa.  He was born April 12, 1933, the son of Hugh and Evelyn (Steward) Wright.  Hugh married Jean Trentz in Waterloo in 1953.  He was employed for 30 years at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo and later at Area 7 (Central Rivers Area Education Agency).  Hugh enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Iowa Bow Hunters Association.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Wright, of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Debbie (Gary) Olson, of New Prague, Minnesota, and two grandchildren, Liam Olson of Farmington, Minnesota and Tessa Olson of Ely, Minnesota.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo.  Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
