HERBERT A. DRENNER was born November 26, 1915 in New Hartford, Iowa, the son of James Elmer and Louise (Behrens) Drenner. He married Elvera Hubbard on August 5, 1936 in McGregor, Iowa. Herb was a farmer in Cedar Falls and worked for Runyan Construction Company in Cedar Falls for many years. His grandchildren remember and cherish the beautiful treasures he crafted from wood. Herb died Friday, July 4, 2003, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 87 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Elvera, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Jim (Glennyce) Drenner of Vinton, Iowa and Duane (Sharon) Drenner of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Pat (Monty) Groesbeck of Prescott, Wisconsin and Kathi (Ken) Marsh of Waterloo, Iowa; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Clifford (Ramona) Drenner of Clinton, Arkansas and a sister, Marjorie Christian of La Porte City, Iowa.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Orville Drenner.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery in rural Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
