HENRY WILLIAM OBERHAUSER was born on October 4, 1934, at La Porte City, Iowa the son of Aloyious J. and Julia (Becker) Oberhauser. He married Phyllis J. Glaspie on May 26, 1957 at Cedar Falls, Iowa. Henry served in the U. S. Army from 1957 – 1959 and was a maintenance welder at John Deere & Co. in Waterloo, Iowa, retiring in 1989. He was the owner and operator of Hank's Welding Shop in Cedar Falls, retiring in 1998. Henry died Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo at 64 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Tamara K. Mauer of Cedar Falls and his son, Eugene Carl Oberhauser of Boling Brook, Illinois; one grandson, Curtis James Mauer; a brother, Bernard Oberhauser of La Porte City and three sister, his twin, Helen Schweer of Grimes, Iowa, Lillian Taylor of
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Oberhauser.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 3 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
