HELENE F. JOHNSON was born may 14, 1901 in Grundy County, Iowa the daughter of Nels & Marie (Bruhn) Andersen. She married Clarence Johnson August 30, 1927 at Fredsville Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls. He died September 5, 1965. Helene died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home at the age of 102 years.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond (Alma) Johnson of Luck, Wisconsin and Vernon (Margaret) Johnson of Santa Clara, California; one daughter, Lorraine (Donald) Braun of Cedar Falls, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Amanda Strandskow of Solvang, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers, Harold, Thorvald, Arnold and Edward Andersen.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday at Fredsville Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Fredsville Lutheran Church or the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Endowment Fund.
