Helen W. Buss

Helen W. Buss, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born January 27, 1922 in Waterloo, the daughter of Peter and Jessie (Walker) Christiansen. Helen married Donald Buss on June 16, 1940 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1998. Helen attended Waterloo East High School and was a 1961 graduate of the Allen School of Nursing LPN Program. Survivors include two sons, Duane (Jeanne) Buss and Doug Buss, both of Cedar Falls; a step daughter, Patricia (Manuel) Gomez, of Texas; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother, Paul Christiansen, and three sisters, Thelma Ankeny, Josephine Wenthe and Iris Power. Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
