Heidi Christine Rogers

Heidi Christine Rogers, 61, of Cedar Falls, passed away at UPH/Allen Hospital on Friday, January 24, 2025. She was born in Waterloo on November 20, 1963, daughter of Hans and Gisela (Preiss) Martens. Heidi graduated from Hudson High School with the Class of 1982 then attended the Cedar Falls School of Beauty to become a cosmetologist. She married Randall Ross Jensen on September 23, 1983 in Carlsbad, California.  They had three sons together, later divorcing. Heidi met Dwight Alan Rogers at St. John Lutheran Church and they were married on June 26, 2004, in Cedar Falls. She worked for Great Clips & Trends by Friends before starting her entrepreneurial career as owner/operator of both Sharper Image Salon and New Heights Salon. She finished her career at Head to Toe Salon, before retiring in April 2024.

Heidi was preceded in death by her sister, Susanna Martens and an infant niece; granddaughter, Hadley Joy Rogers; uncles, Rudolf and Edgar Preiss; aunts, Annelies Fuller, Anamarie Gulley; and both sets of grandparents.

She is survived by her parents, Hans and Gisela Martens of Hudson; her husband of 20 years, Dwight; sons: Justin Lee (Whitney) Jensen of Cedar Falls, Benjamin Ross Jensen of Kansas City, Missouri and Nicholas Hans (Karen) Jensen of Huntsville, Alabama; stepsons: Derrick (Natalie) Rogers of Cedar Falls and Dustin (Norah) Rogers of Grundy Center; 9 grandchildren: Ellyn, Hunter, Jayse, Kylar, Myles, Hayden, Harper, Huxlee and Henley; aunts, Theresa Shields and Marion Preiss; cousins: Ronald Fuller, Karl Fuller, Patricia (Preiss) Deubach, Mark Preiss, Frances (Preiss) Jones, Kristine Preiss, Ursula Preiss, and Heidi Preiss; and many beloved nieces and nephews including: Shannon Small, Jeannie and Alex Hernandez and Emily (Jensen) Soldwisch, Ross and Lee Jensen.

Heidi's Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025 with Visitation the evening prior from 4 – 7:00 pm, both at Orchard Hill Church of Cedar Falls. In lieu of flowers, Heidi would love nothing more than to have a donation made in her honor at the Cedar Bend Humane Society .

Heidi was a kind soul who saw her many clients more as family who she could care for and listen to during the course of an appointment. She loved searching for new recipes and was an amazing cook and will be remembered by her family, especially, for her deviled eggs and lasagna. Heidi had some very close, special friends with whom she traveled, attended concerts and loved to dance. She enjoyed exercising whether going to the rec center, participating in the Bix7 with friends or walking her best buddy/chocolate labradoodle, Apollo. She especially cherished time with her family including games of Yahtzee with her parents. Heidi's final, tremendous gift was the donation of her organs and tissues that will benefit countless people in the future. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
