Hazel Hildahl

Hazel G. Hildahl, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. She was born June 4, 1926 in Oklee, Minnesota, the daughter of Monrad and Anne (Christopherson) Hildahl. Hazel moved to Waterloo in 1951 and attended Gates Business College. She worked in sales at Black's Department Store and later at Kmart, both in Waterloo. She retired in 1991. Hazel was a volunteer at the Western Home Communities since 1992.

Hazel is survived by one brother, Owen (Carol) Hildahl, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; nine nieces and nephews; Kenneth (Lou Ann) Ellingson, of Spencer, Iowa, Karlene (Ron) Humpal, of Decorah, Iowa, Karol (Harold) Spores, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Delphine (Jerry) Hagen, of Moorehead, Minnesota, Steven (Diane) Hildahl, of Jamestown, North Dakota, Teresa Johnson, of Mandan, North Dakota, Michael (Betsy) Burgess, of Powder Springs, Georgia, Linda Burgess, of Yorktown, Virginia, and Kathie Hildahl, of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Orvin, Clarence, Gilbert, and one in infancy; four sisters, Mildred Ellingson, Carla Hildahl, Beatrice Burgess, and one in infancy, and one niece, Karen Ellingson.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Nazareth Lutheran Church. Burial be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 in High Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, LaMoure, North Dakota.
