Hazel M. Hemmer, 94, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls. She was born July 1, 1922, in Hopkington, Iowa, the daughter of Harrison and Eva (Meister) McCalley. Hazel married Eugene Hemmer Feb. 10, 1945 at the Little Brown Church , in Nashua. He preceded her in death November 1, 1975.

She is survived by one son, Raymond (Nancy) Hemmer, and one daughter, Donna Arlene Hemmer, both of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Naomi (Stephen) Probert, of Independence, Amy (Steve) Mivelaz, of Gilbert, AZ, and Dennis (Selena) Hemmer of, Cedar Falls; six great grandchildren, Lydie and Samson Probert, Ivy, Evan, Sylvie and Silas Hemmer.

Hazel was preceded in death by parents, husband, three brothers, John, Donald, and Clyde McCalley, and two sisters, Erma Duwa and Betty Rechenberger.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Cedar Bible Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bible Church or Riverview Ministries.
