Harriett Boike

Harriett Boike, 89, of Waterloo, died of natural causes on Monday, August 30, 2010, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.  She was born July 23, 1921 near Dike, Iowa, the daughter of Harm and Emma (Saathoff) Boike.  Harriett worked at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for thirty-six years, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include her son, Darrell (Laura Bohlen) Boike, of Waverly, Iowa; two granddaughters, Erin (Chad Bolin) Boike of Cedar Falls and Jill (Cameron) Crosser of Eldora, Iowa; two great grandchildren, Brayden Crosser and Madek Bolin; her special friend, Hartley Latterman, of Waterloo; a brother, Leslie Boike, and a sister, Minnie Ruthenberg, both of Cedar Falls.

Harriett was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Herman Boike, and a sister, Mabel Henningsen.
