Harold C Luders

Harold Chriss Luders, 91, of New Hartford, died Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center.   Harold was born July 23, 1919, in Stuttgard, Arkansas, the son of Otto & Alvilda (Jacobson) Luders.  He served in the U. S. Army 32nd Armored Regiment during WWII.  Harold married Verna Mae Smith November 12, 1939 in New Hartford. She preceded him in death April 9, 2005.  He farmed at New Hartford and  retired from Rath Packing Company in Waterloo.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Ann (Frank) Grendler, Sharon (Daniel) Fix; and his son, Ronald H. (Pamela) Luders, all of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vergal & Albert Luders, and his sister, Mary Johnson.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors will by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and for one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.  A memorial fund will be established.
