Harold T. Larsen, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Center. He was born September 2, 1920 in Cedar Falls, the son of John and Dagmar (Nielsen) Larsen. Harold married Helen S. King November 11, 1944 in Bend, Oregon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Harold graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1938 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). Before his retirement in 1984, he worked for N. H. Hansen Construction and Jens Oleson Construction. Harold was the longest living member of Nazareth Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Larsen, of Cedar Falls; four sons, Rod Larsen of Cedar Falls, Ray (Mary Kay) Larsen of Waterloo, Richard (Carol) Larsen of Rockingham, North Carolina, and Robert (Patricia "Trish") Larsen of Laurinburg, North Carolina; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Erna Larsen and Clara Anzinger. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 46:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusaders and Nazareth Lutheran Church.
