HARLEY E.
ERICKSON, 81, of Cedar Falls died Monday, October 18, 2004 at Western Home Communities-Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center. He was born July 6, 1923 at Sparta, Wisconsin the son of Evan & Hilda (Olson) Erickson. He married Beverly Wolf July 22, 1950 at LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death June 27, 1993. Harley served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He received his BA from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and his MA & PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a professor for 36 years retiring in 1987 after 23 years of service with the University of Northern Iowa.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Patricia) Erickson of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and Steven (Ellen) Erickson of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Sally Erickson of Placentia, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister, Alta Hagen.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with interment in Greenwood Cemetery with full military rites by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be made to the University of Northern Iowa Foundation in the names of Harley & Beverly Erickson.
