Harley Bergman

Harley H. Bergman, 80, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He was born November 24, 1936 in Waverly, the son of Erwin and Martha (Rodemeyer) Bergman. Harley married Betty Simon December 21, 1968 in Waterloo. He was a veteran of the United States Army.  Harley worked for Pepsi Cola for twenty eight years, retiring in 1998. He was a tractor enthusiast and collected Pepsi memorabilia. Harley was proud to have been chosen AMVET of the year.

Harley is survived by his wife, Betty Bergman, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Gregory (Tammy) Bergman, of Cedar Falls and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Bumgardner Bergman, of Waterloo; one daughter, Brenda  (Tim) Crawford, of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Tony Dixon, Allison Bergman, Dan Bergman, Justin Crawford, Jacob Crawford, Holly Bergman, Dakota Bumgardner Bergman, and Caymen Bumgardner Bergman; one brother,  David (Dolly) Bergman, of Atlantic, Iowa, and one sister, Geneva Ellerman, of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Robert, Roger, Edgar, LeRoy, and Allan Bergman and two sisters, Margaret Warnke and Dorothy Meyer.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, both in rural Hudson. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by Hudson AMVETS Post # 82.
