Gwendolyn M. Sandven, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. She was born September 16, 1924 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of H. Gilbert and Mabel (Kalsem) Dueland. Gwendolyn married Kenneth Sandven June 15, 1951 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 2001. Gwendolyn graduated from Luther College in 1949. She taught in Crystal Lake, Hayfield, Des Moines, and Eagle Grove, Iowa. Gwendolyn was a choir director and an accomplished Organist and Pianist.

She is survived by two daughters; Kim (Kevin) Engels, of Cedar Falls and Michele (John) Webbink, of Pocahontas, Iowa; four grandchildren, Kenton (Brittan) Engels, Karen Engels, Dacia Knipp and Aaron(Stephanie) Webbink, and two great grandchildren, and one sister, Cathy (Roy) Hjelmaas, of Eugene Oregon.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband and one son, Lin Sandven.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before services at the chapel on Saturday. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
