Grace Brandt

Grace Brandt, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, December 17, 2010, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.  Grace was born June 12, 1917, at Buck Grove, Iowa, the daughter of John Luchtenburg, Sr. & Tena (Walters) Luchtenburg.  She married John Brandt November 26, 1936 at Pleasant Valley Reformed Church, Buck Grove.  Grace was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, Darrel (Beverly) Brandt, of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Norma (Gary) DeGroote, of New Hartford; three grandchildren, Stephen (Molly) DeGroote, of Cary, Illinois, Kevin (Lisa) Brandt, of Billings, Montana and Kerwin (Lisa) Brandt, of Chicago, Illinois; seven great grandchildren, Jonathon Brandt, Lauren Brandt, Conner Brandt, Carson Brandt, Ashtyn Brandt, Zachary DeGroote and Amanda DeGroote; and one sister, Delores Anderson, of Cedar Falls.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one brother, John Luchtenburg, Jr; and sisters, Jenny Doescher and Helen in infancy.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the Gospel Hall.  A memorial fund will be established.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome .
