Gordon Eugene Nieman, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. He was born October 26, 1936 in Cedar Falls, the son of John and Cecile (Lockwood) Nieman. Gordon married Janet Dieckmann October 7, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Gordon graduated from Teachers college High School in Cedar Falls in 1954. Gordon worked for Martin Brothers for 41 years, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Nieman, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Lisa Nieman, of Cedar Falls and Michelle (Wade) Eichhorn, of Ely, Iowa, and two grandchildren, Audi and Asher Eichhorn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth Nieman and one sister, Maxine Leymaster.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4;00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 23 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church and Black Hawk County 4-H. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
